What is a Skate Club?
A Skate Club provides Roller Skaters and Roller Sports Athletes of all skill levels, types, and ages, resources and opportunities to participate in competitions and social events at their local skating rink.
By joining a USA Roller Sports Skate Club you become part of a community that has enormous benefits.
Benefits of joining a skate club:
Community and Belonging:
Joining the Star Skaters Skate Club provides a sense of belonging to a community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for roller skating. You’ll have opportunities to connect with fellow skaters, coaches, and volunteers, making it easier to find training partners, learn from others, and stay motivated & encouraged.
But it goes beyond your local skating rink, making you a part of a vibrant, national community – as a USA Roller Sports member, you’re a bona fide member of the USA Roller Sports Governing Body, which includes Figure Skating, Speed Skating, Inline Hockey, Rink Hockey, Roller Derby, and Freestyle Skating.
You can also be a part of the community away from the rink through the club’s exclusive Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/starskaters) and Team App (available on mobile devices and desktops).
Structured Training and Coaching:
Star Skaters Skate Club offers regular practice sessions with experienced coaches and skaters, providing guidance on technique, strategy, and safety. This structured training can help you improve your skills, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skater.
Competition Opportunities:
As a member of the Star Skater Skate Club, you’ll have access to sanctioned competitions in the USARS. This allows you to test your skills, set goals, and measure your progress. Being a part of the Star Skaters provides you with the ability to compete in USA Roller Sports Regional and National Championships across all Roller Sports disciplines including: figure, speed, hockey, and derby.
Roller Skating Achievement Program:
USARS clubs often host sessions, enabling you to assess your skills and progress towards participating in an RSA Roller Skating Achievement Test; which provides incentives for skaters to increase their skating skills without the pressure of competition. These tests offer skaters attainable goals. Winning a test award is something of which to be proud and encourages skaters to advance further in developing their roller skating skills.
Club Awards:
The Club Awards Banquet is the Club’s annual event that honors the members who have strived for excellence both on and off of skates.
Club Events and Activities:
USARS clubs often organize social events, exhibitions, skating shows, group trips, educational seminars, skate maintenance classes, and other activities, providing a fun and engaging way to connect with fellow skaters and contribute to the sport’s growth.
Discounts and Perks:
As a USARS club member, you may be eligible for special offers and discounts from corporate partners, such as equipment suppliers or skating rink operators.
Club Apparel:
You’re a part of the Club and it’s time you show it off! Purchase your official Club apparel and start skating in style.
